Let talk about the Truth of what the Crucifixion was for, and stop the
“Cruci-fiction” story we’ve been fed for the past 2000+ years!
We call Jesus the “PRINCE OF PEACE”. Yet find in the Bible words like “the Wrath of God” and “Vengeance is Mine Sayeth the Lord”. As well as all kinds of things that make God out to be an angry murderous being. Then we turn right around and say “God is Love”! Does that make any sense??
Do you think a Loving God would send his beloved son to be tortured and killed because he “So loved the world…”? That’s what the bible says right? So it MUST be true!
But what if the true story has been misinterpreted?
Over the past 2000+ years, the story is very likely to have changed from it’s original intended teaching. Of course you are free to believe as you wish! Perception is always the choice of the perceiver.
But isn’t that how the truth gets twisted? Someone thinks they are telling the truth; and to THEM it is true! But not necessarily THEE TRUTH.
Have you ever had the feeling; or said words to the effect of feeling crucified? Was it pleasant? Not likely! Would you volunteer for such a task? Even less likely! Right? Who would choose to suffer that much!? Regardless of the benefit or cause?!
What if the crucifixion was really meant to show us the extent of the intensity of our willingness to assault our holy brothers? If we look at ourselves and the world truthfully, the hidden or open hate we all carry towards each other in one way or another is very apparent! Even our own family members are not immune to at least a tongue lashing at one time or another! We project our hate as easily, if not easier, than we do our love. Our perception of Love is obviously imperfect. So was the perception of the Apostles who wrote about the crucifixion years AFTER it actually happened!
How much jealousy and anger would we project, if someone like Jesus told a truth we’d rather deny!?
It’s easy to say we would never murder Jesus! The thought seems unmentionable. But how many of us get angry when someone points out a character flaw in us? How many are really willing to hear that and remain in a loving mood?
I know for me it would be very hard! Nobody likes to hear bad things about themselves. No matter how it is said! The most likely reaction is to defend or attack in retaliation for a bruised ego. Which is exactly what I believe caused the Crucifixion! It’s obvious this is the truth if we read the bible at all!
Wouldn’t it make sense that Christ would come to teach us how hate is not the answer? That the Love of, and for, God would help us to rise above this hateful, worldly, existence? What lesson is Jesus really teaching? That to go to heaven you have to suffer as he did? Or is the TRUE lesson in the resurrection?
Our bodies are just “space suits” while we are here on earth. We must overcome the senses of what the body tells us and remember that we all have everlasting life! That Love is our true nature! The words “Forgive them father for they know not what they do.” Points to the fact that Jesus remained true to his loving nature by the power of the Holy Spirit. Despite the extreme circumstances around him! He heard ONLY the voice of GODand was the supreme example of the power of Love to overcome any obstacle! His reappearance to the apostles further proves that death does not really exist, but is an illusion brought on by a belief that the body is real.
Now; how can you believe your body is not real? I admit it’s a tough pill to swallow! But if we stop to think about all the evidence we find for eternal life, I think it brings the question to a shocking reality that what seems real; really isn’t.
Young children seem to know instinctively that death of the body will one day come and that they will “go to heaven “ or some other afterlife experience will happen. Every culture without exception has an afterlife story!
Science has proven through quantum physics that the solidarity of the universe is just a huge pocket of possibilities for the observer. Each observer has a different experience! So what is REALITY??
Perhaps the Crucifixion was meant to teach us that Life cannot be destroyed. We cannot be persecuted unless we identify with being destructible.
Quantum science is showing that everything is non-local. We now know that fundamental properties of the physical world are not fixed; the world changes in subtle ways depending on how we wish to observe it. Quantum physics, with its startling revelations and freakish discoveries, has successfully awakened the world from what William Blake called “Newton’s slumber.” We can no longer look at a world that appears real, local, consistent, and causal, and believe with full conviction that we are perceiving the whole of reality. We can’t even say that we know what reality we are perceiving!
While I don’t want to get into quantum physics here; I think it’s important and relevant to our discussion about the crucifixion. Our judgments and evaluations about everything has been wrong. I would also go so far as to say that we can only teach what we BELIEVE is true and thereby not know TRUTH at all!
Until mankind can get over the “fact” of a bodily existence and return to the true FACT of a higher spiritual existence, we will crucify ourselves for the lack of awareness what truth really is!
I don’t claim any sainthood in my knowledge of truth. Nor do I exclude myself from being “crucified” by my own beliefs or the beliefs of others. I’m as human and “sinful” as anybody! But I hope to Practice and share in coming to new awareness together. So we can all claim a resurrection of the Peace Love, and Joy that God intended for his Son! That “SON” being you and I!
In short; The Crucifixion is a symbol of our belief in the separation from God. A symbol to show mankind hears many voices and not the ONE voice of of our Loving heavenly Father that wishes for our return to sanity.
The resurrection is symbolic of victory over this false belief. A return to TRUTH and LOVE! The ressurection IS a way HOME for the prodigal son if he will but heed the ONE voice and remove himself from the Cross. Resurrecting the Truth.
The the words “Rest in Peace” should not be said to the dead, but to the living! To remind us to commune with Holy Spirit at all times so that time can end. Time would be of no use if we did this because we would have no need for a “time for leaning” or anything else. Eternity knows no time! Where would it start? Where would end? How could eternity be eternal if it had a beginning or end? It couldn’t!! Yet we nail ourselves to a cross and sing about clinging to “The Old Rugged Cross” hoping to exchange it “SOMEDAY FOR A CROWN”!
What if we made someday TODAY! Everyday! By forgiving each other as we are taught we should and begin to see the eternal spirit each one of possesses under the raggedy “space suit” we wear here on earth!
Practice makes perfect! But who really practices looking past a personality or a body to see the spirit the makes it all work? We are ALL Animated by God! But we fail to look for the animation. Instead we judge the way the animation appears to us thereby driving another nail in the cross of the Son of God.
The Crucifixion isn’t over! Not until everyone of us decides to stop clinging to a cross of time and individuality ( in-divided-duality) and exchange it for the crown of truth in our ONENESS! A single unified mind in Christ consciousness!
