Is The Law Of Compensation just about money? That’s usually the first thing that comes to mind whenever the word compensation comes up. But what about the words “As you Sow, so shall you reap”? What does that really mean?
Let’s notice our normal human interactions for a moment. If I were to act angry toward you; what would your most likely reaction be? Defensive anger, right? If I treated you with extreme kindness (with love), you would reciprocate with gratitude ( which is also love). In this way we can see that The Law Of Compensation is always in action! We need only pay attention to it’s presence and the seeds we sow. (Or look at the harvest.)
Raymond Holliwell. Author the book “Working With The Law”. Says this:
“The Law that we reap what we sow is mathematically accurate.
Each experience through which we pass
operates ultimately for our good.
To interpret this Law in a simple form,
it should be stated that whatever we attract,
we require, and whatever we need is always good.
This is a correct attitude to adopt,
because all experience is for our good
and we must be able to see it in that light.”
Hmmm …”whatever we attract, we require? Whatever we need is always good?”
Require?… Always? What about when people end up in a wheel chair, or murdered? How can THAT be for their good? Who could require that!?? And why!?
Good- no… GREAT questions!
Here’s the understanding that was given to me during my “experience” with GOD. (see about me page for details)
Each soul needs or “requires” certain experiences for the growth of that soul. Since, from a spiritual point of view, there is no judgment about things, and “nothing really matters” as we would think of it. An agreement is set up before we are born to have these experiences. Kind of a “ I wonder what it would be like to..” kind of thing; is about as well as I can explain it. We all do that here too don’t we? Why do you go on a roller coaster? For the experience of it! Experience is our best teacher!
We also should keep in mind that “ALL things work to the good and glory of GOD”. Boy! We sure forget that one easily! But how are we compensated for that forgetfulness? (I just love deep questions like this!) Think about the “poor me” syndrome we all get caught up in from time to time. What happens? We take a nose dive! Left unchecked it can lead to all kinds of nasty things. Like drug addiction, abuse of self and others, and an endless list of “bad” things start coming our way! True? Hmmm; Law of attraction ties in again! Are you starting to see how one thing ties into everything else?
If we stop to look at nature, we see how this works through every living thing! An animal dies to feed the grass and other animals etc. So why would we humans be so resistant to this? When we look at it that way we can notice how “stupid” some of our beliefs are, and why things don’t work out for us so well. We don’t bother to notice the truth that is all around us! Take the funeral rituals we do for example. We Do embalming to preserve a body with no life in it! Instead of letting nature do what nature does! For WHAT!? What belief drives that behavior? As Spock from Star Trek would say “Fascinating! But Illogical.”
Marianne Williamson says it beautifully! As she usually does!
“The law of gravity, for instance, is not just a “belief.”
It is true whether or not you believe it.
Spiritual laws are not just beliefs, either;
they are descriptions of how consciousness operates ”
… Descriptions of how consciousness operates, huh? Who’s thinking “ I know how my consciousness operates!” ? But do we REALLY? Or is that a belief?
Gal. 6:7. Says: “Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.” Do you really know why certain things happen to you?
We need to be careful here! This does NOT mean “God will get you for that!” Nobody consciously asks for catastrophes to happen! Nobody deserves retribution or revenge. GOD doesn’t operate that way!
But if we look at ourselves and the world around us very closely; we can learn an awful lot about all of these universal laws and how they operate in our lives!
The Law Of Compensation is another way of saying that the universe is just a great big mirror, reflecting the current state or condition of our consciousness!
Think again about Galatians 6:7. Then ask yourself: What am I getting out of life? What is being reflected back to me that I can learn from? How am I not seeing things clearly? What am I resisting? What beliefs am I sowing to receive this harvest?
This is soul searching work! It often takes lots of effort and patience to dig deep down inside and learn the things we would rather not see about ourselves. But would you rather live in darkness and pain? Or would you bring the light of truth to yourself?
Those last two statements sound pretty familiar don’t they? Pain and Gnashing of teeth? Light and darkness?
Two verses come up here. The command “Be Still and know that I am GOD. “ And John 14:14 where Jesus says: “If ye shall ask any thing in my Name, I will do it.”
What would happen if we took those two verses and tied them together? What would we get? Sounds like a request for us to meditate doesn’t it? To ask these questions and quietly wait for the answers He promises.
When we do this, we are truly following the directions God gave us. How do you think he would compensate us for such loyalty and devotion? I can speak from my own experience that the following words are becoming ever more true for me.
Ezekiel Chapter 36
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them].
And from Luke Chapter 17
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Don’t get me wrong I am not without my faults! But as I continue to focus on questions like I mentioned earlier; and quietly let the answers come, those verses become more and more a part of my new reality! But I’ve noticed that what I resist does persist! Why? Because I’m asking for that to be held from me! Even though I may desperately be asking! The truth is I’m saying to GOD “I’m not ready yet” and He sees through my asking and sees truth in me. Then when I’m ready to let go; That ah ha Moment comes! He then shows me the truth in me HE sees! It’s a beautiful thing! ♥♥♥♥
Final note! Nothing is ever lost! The Universe is self organizing & self correcting. Nobody can steal from you without the Universe compensating you for what was taken. This doesn’t mean if someone stole your TV the universe will buy you a new one. (bummer huh?) What it means is that if you block an act of love or your act of love is blocked. The universe will find a way to hold that love in trust for you until you are ready to receive it. It will always return to you in some way! Hmm…”I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice…” Interesting!
