The Law of Non-Resistance is about understanding that when we find an obstacle, we must work our way around the problem. Just like a stream, our biggest obstacles are at the beginning. As we get more momentum, we no longer need to work around a problem but can flow over it or push it out of the way like water.
Electricity is another good example we can learn the Law of Non-Resistance from. Ohm’s law is the law relating to the voltage difference between two points, the electric current flowing between them, and the resistance of the path of the current.
In other words in both examples of water and electricity, we find that the flow or current is directly proportionate to the size of pipe or wire.
How big is your pipe? How much pressure can you handle before you burst or short out? Most will give the obvious answer which would be: “It depends on what’s going on,Some things are easier to handle than others.” But is that really true? It’s honestly hard for me to even write this because I agree that I handle some things better than others too. But let’s ask why this is so and use electricity as a metaphor for the question.
First of all we have to notice how we are each wired. Putting 220 volts through a system made to handle 18 would be disastrous! Can you imagine what would happen to your car if you tried to jump start your battery by passing that much current through the jumper cables! YIKES! It simply is not designed to handled it. On the same note if we passed anything less than 12 volts into our car battery and expected it to start, the chances of that happening would be less than slim.
We are no different. GOD designed each of us with a specific purpose. We often hear biologists and psychiatrists talk about certain behaviors being “hard wired in the brain”. We all have the same basic design or hardware. But like a computer, it’s the software that makes us different. Our talents, modes of expression, and personal preferences are the “software”.
We often say and hear “what you resist; persists”. This is a true expression about the Law of Non-Resistance and the cause of much of the stress and illness we experience in life. It also points out that we are aware of this law!
As per our example above, if we’re trying to install a program that we are not designed for, or apply more pressure than our pipes can handle, we can only expect disastrous results. This is the reason the words “KNOW THYSELF” are so important! Finding your unique talents and personal preferences are key to this commandment.
Personal preferences can sometimes be used an an excuse for resistance. A self place resistor in the wires. We often tell ourselves we prefer not to do something as a means to pacify our fear. This only shrink the size of our pipe or gauge of wire and restricts the flow of our growth and our lives. Catch yourself pacify your fears and move your resistor to that place in the wire! With practice your life will flow much better! 🙂
“If you do not run your subconscious mind yourself, someone else will run it for you.”
The world we live in is all too ready and eager to do this for us! The media is full of subconscious messages that tell us what’s important to be a “whole” or good person. Schools, the Government, friends, parents; the list is endless of those willing eager and ready to fill our Subconscious with all kinds of crap. Why? Because the Law of resistance is just that. A law that is in place and operates whether we are aware of it or not.
So wow can we open our pipes and make the Law of Non-Resistance work in our favor? That’s what spiritualdiscussions is all about! To make the words “KNOW THYSELF” a fact about ourselves. If we can accomplish that task and truly know ourselves, the world becomes our oyster! For that to happen we have to do something that all those religions scriptures say; but religion really doesn’t talk about or teach.
We have to learn how to go within and look at ourselves honestly! To get beyond false beliefs and find the truth that lies dormant within each of us! To get in touch with our true essence. By paying attention only to our true essence, we strengthen those characteristics within ourselves and align powerfully to Spirit and its impulse for the increase of life!
“One’s ships come in over a calm sea.”
If we continue to restrict ourselves by not looking and paying attention to the “software” we’re running and the “viruses” in our operating system. How can we ever hope to have a calm sea? Our pipes are not open and therefor the dock is closed!
Let’s look at it from another perspective or two. Would you try to dock a boat in a raging storm? You wouldn’t want to even be in the boat in the first place right? But if you were what are the chances of severe damage to your boat? I hope you can swim! If not; at least have the life jacket of faith!
Another way to look at is this. Have you ever tried to calm an angry person? Do they listen to you or even hear the words your saying? No because they are in the midst of a raging storm. They can’t hear you because their pipes are already overflowing with anger. Nothing else can enter! Does that bring the words “Be still and know that I am God” a little closer to home? Does it help you to correctly implement and understand the Law of Non-Resistance?
One of my favorite quotes comes to mind here. “Your mind is like a parachute, it only works when it’s open.” Meaning non-Resistance is taking place!
Since we understand how to be less resistant. We can begin learning how to receive by better understanding The Law Of Receiving.
See you next time! <3
